On Feb 5th Kennedy won the Breed at the ASSCA Specialty under judge Dave Calderwood. This was the third year in a row that Kennedy has won the breed in Smooths at this Specialty and he's only 4 years old! Kennedy also took all 3 BB's at the all-breed shows and a group 3 and a group 4 to make him the current # 1 Smooth collie and the # 5 Herding dog in Canada.

At this same set of all-breed shows, Kennedy's rough son Ryder (Tamaron's Deal Me In) and his baby rough daughter Promise (Tamaron's Promise Me) also debuted. Ryder was WD for 2 points and also was RWD once.

Promise won a huge 4 point BW under judge Ramon Podesta her very first time in the ring. She had him laughing with her "happy feet". Her little front feet were constantly patting the floor and her tail never quit wagging.

Blush (Ch. Tamaron's Caught In the Act), who is a rough Kennedy sister has been bred to Ch. Tamaron Cassori Stir of Echoes (Elijah). Elijah is a grandson/nephew of the beautiful Am/Can Ch. Cassori Echoes of a Legend (Buddy) and Blush is a niece of Buddy. All colors expected, all rough. Blush is due the end of March.

On March 5th, Kennedy won his second all-breed Best in Show!!!! This incredible win was under judge Avery Gaudin. Doug Gaudin also gave Kennedy a group 1 the same day. It is a breeder/owner/handlers dream come true when they get a BIS and getting 2 on the same dog under different judges reinforces that you are doing something right! Kennedy also got a group 2 (Susan Badick), 2 group 3's (David Markus, Guy Jeavons) and a group 4 (Carol Graham).

March 4, 5 and 6 was a great weekend for 2 of Kennedy's rough kids as well. Tamaron's Deal Me In (
Ryder) picked up two 3 point BW, BB and a 2 point WD on the weekend and baby (Promise) Tamaron's Promise Me was WB one show and WB, BW, BP and BB over the boys on the last show under judge Doug Gaudin.

3rd Time's the Charm!!!!

On March 18th, after a horrific start to the National weekend, (see newspaper article below)and not being able to take the 5 dogs entered, Kennedy and I flew out to Cloverdale, BC for the Collie Club of Canada National Specialty (March 19th) and the Collie Club of BC Regional Specialty (March 20th). Kennedy has twice before won Best of Breed Smooth at the Canadian National- the first time when he was only 11 months old. Kennedy is just 4 years old now. This was the 3rd time he was BB Smooth but this time he went all the way to Best in Specialty, beating the rough BB winner! This is hardly ever done at a National, the fully coated roughs beat out their smooth counterparts almost all the time. Huge thank you to judge Mary Wells of Blossom Hill Collies in California for this incredible honor! After the horrific roll over on the way to the National, it truly is a testament to the temperament of this wonderful breed to be able to calmly get on a plane, fly out to the show and then win the National!

The next day, under judge Mike van Tassel, also from California, Kennedy once again won BB Smooth but this time the beautiful blue rough dog of Nancy Anstruther's won Best in Specialty. It was interesting to see that both judges picked the same rough and the same smooth for their choice for BB in their respective varieties.

We have now won the National with a smooth as well as a rough. In 1997, Can, Int'l, BISS Ch. Tamaron's State of Confusion (Vegas) won the National Specialty out in New Brunswick. It is a breeder's dream come true to win their National Specialty and to have done it with both coat varieties is such an amazing feeling. Thank you to all for the support you showed Kennedy and I at this year's Canadian National!

NBIS, MBIS Am/Can Ch. Tamaron The Real Deal (Kennedy) was at his last all-breed show in Canada the first weekend in November, 2011. There, under judges we have never shown to before, Kennedy picked up a group 2 and 2 group 4's. Excellent way to retire from the all-breed scene in Canada! Kennedy will still be out at Specialties and shows in the States.

We are also very pleased to announce that Kennedy will be a daddy in Australia! Stay tuned here for more news about that. The frozen semen is safely there now and breeder Sue Kennedy (now, isn't Sue's last name just too funny?) is just waiting for her bitch to come into season. It is very exciting to have Kennedy's puppies down under!
Tamaron Smooth Collies are #'s 1, 3 and 4 in Canada for 2011!!!
We are so very pleased to announce that Kennedy, MBIS, MBISS, NBIS Am/Can Ch. Tamaron The Real Deal is once again Canada's #1 Smooth Collie! He was # 1 in 2009, 2010 and now 2011. Not only that but we also have bred and/or own the #'s 3 and 4 Smooth Collies as well. # 3 is Kennedy's grandson, Ch. Tamaron's Viva Las Vegas (Dillon) who is owned by Shereen Caisley from Grand Prairie, AB. # 4 is Ch. Tamaron's Deal Or No Deal (Howie) who is co-owned by Tamaron and Kelly Anthony of Morinville, AB. Congrats to you on your Top Dog standing!!!!!
Watch for both Howie and Dillon out in 2012 as well as some rough and smooth puppies.
